Brake System Repair

Your vehicle’s braking system is arguably the most vital system in your vehicle. Failure of the braking system can lead to automobile accidents, injury and even death. Many of today’s vehicles are equipped with anti-lock braking systems that minimize stopping distances. Work performed on vehicles with anti-lock brake systems should be done by professional ASE Certified Technicians.

Basic brake maintenance is important. Your braking system may encompass more vehicle components than you might think. While you usually think of brakes as made up of drums or rotors, pads, calipers et-cetera, tires and suspension components are also important to stopping a vehicle. It is important to keep your vehicle’s braking system operating at peak condition. You should have your tires rotated often. That is a good time to have us inspect your brake system for wear. Brake rotors can also become warped from heat. Warped rotors are less efficient at stopping your car and will increase your stopping distance. Keep in mind that worn out shock absorbers and struts can also lead to increased stopping distances. Struts and shocks help keep tires planted to the road rather than bouncing off of the road surface. If your tires leave contact with the road surface, they can not stop the vehicle. Tires also wear out and lead to longer stopping distances. J & B can help you maintain your braking system including struts, shocks and tires.
